I've been following professional ice hockey for twenty or so years. Originally from St. Louis, I was uprooted and moved to Atlanta in 1993, which at the time wasn't exactly a hotbed of hockey activity. The Thrashers came about in 1999, though, and I went to their games since that first 4-1 loss to the Devils. Sadly, April 10th, 2011 marked the last game in Thrashers history, so I return to my original team with undivided attention.
This blog will retain the moniker "Thrashing the Blues" not just for convenience sake, but also as a bit of a memorial to a team that drove me absolutely insane for eleven seasons. Thanks, guys.
When LeNoceur fell in love with the Blues, Bernie Federko was a star player, and not an awkward shill for a shady mortgage company. Since retiring from the former hockey blog Melt Your Face-Off, he posts his occasional Blues musings here at Thrashing the Blues. He lives on a fortified compound in the St. Louis area protected by a pack of trained and vicious bichon frises.
