Blues Do Something EVERYONE Agrees With; Name David Backes Captain

David Backes has been named the 20th captain in St. Louis Blues history. I think that the decision was based upon this and this alone:

Well, ok, his leadership skills on and off the ice have something to do with it too, I'm sure. Congrats, David!

About the Authors

I've been following professional ice hockey for twenty or so years. Originally from St. Louis, I was uprooted and moved to Atlanta in 1993, which at the time wasn't exactly a hotbed of hockey activity. The Thrashers came about in 1999, though, and I went to their games since that first 4-1 loss to the Devils. Sadly, April 10th, 2011 marked the last game in Thrashers history, so I return to my original team with undivided attention.

This blog will retain the moniker "Thrashing the Blues" not just for convenience sake, but also as a bit of a memorial to a team that drove me absolutely insane for eleven seasons. Thanks, guys.
